A 32-year-old woman underwent surgical excision of a lump in her left breast in a general surgical unit of the Royal Victoria Hospital. Clinical diagnosis of fibroadenosis was confirmed by frozen section histology. Anaesthesia was uneventful, the patient breathing spontaneously throughout the operation via a face mask. She was well post-operatively and was discharged on the evening of the surgery.
